This year, we hosted our first ever Field Leaders Retreat; an event planned specifically for our field leaders, by our field leaders. With our corporate headquarters nearby, downtown Jacksonville served as the perfect location to hold the inaugural retreat. Field leaders from all over the country were invited to this two-day event, where participants spent the weekend learning, collaborating and giving back.
Throughout the retreat, our leaders focused on:
- Appreciation. It was important to us to ensure that our field leaders left this retreat with full understanding that they are a key part of our success, and feel our appreciation.
- Receiving relevant tools and clear expectations. Another priority of the retreat was to ensure our field leaders have the tools, information, and materials to do their jobs well. The retreat also provided clarity about expectations from, and of our Project Managers.
- Fostering inspiration and motivation through connection. A priority of the retreat was to increase the desire to mentor and teach others, bringing up the next generation.
Multiple breakout sessions were led by field leaders and other members of the Miller Electric community. Throughout these sessions, we prioritized five major themes; a futuristic look of the market, people, clients, operations, and finances.
In addition to presentation style learning and breakout sessions, our leaders also took the time to have a little fun. On Friday evening, we hosted our Annual Employee Appreciation Event at the Jumbo Shrimp game – where ALL of our employees are invited to network and hang out with family and friends. The following morning, our field leaders took the Jacksonville Downtown River Taxi over to the First Coast Heart Walk, where Miller was represented well, with participation from over 500 employees and their families.
The participation and engagement from our field leaders at this event is just one of the many reasons Miller employs the most talented and qualified workforce in the industry. Their commitment to continuous learning and collaboration helps set us apart as we continue to serve our clients on job sites around the country.
