As a core financial institution of Jacksonville and Northeast Florida, VyStar Credit Union required a home office that reflects the reputation of integrity, stability, and steady expansion that the company has earned. They found that home in the former Suntrust Tower in Downtown Jacksonville. After acquiring the 23-story skyscraper in August of 2018, they began construction on the sweeping renovations of their new headquarters. After realizing that the new space would not accommodate their growing staff, VyStar decided to purchase the adjacent 7-story building, formerly known as the Life of the South building.
VyStar’s vision is to create a multi-building downtown campus adding to the on-going improvements of Downtown Jacksonville. The renovations include new offices, conference rooms, a cafe, breakrooms, and a game area. The project is led by general contractor Dana B. Kenyon Company.
We installed generators that provide emergency backup power to the entire building with provisions for future generators. We also installed a new UPS system throughout the 23 story building. LED energy-efficient lighting and critical infrastructure power are also installed. We are currently working on the beautiful shoelace lighting on the exterior of the tower building.
Vystar is committed to improving downtown for its customers and employees. Future plans include the renovation of a nearby parking garage and to light up the Jacksonville skyline with an exterior lighting project. This incredible fusion of technology and art will make this a signature project for everyone involved. Stay tuned!
