Four Miller Electric projects were recognized at the ABC Florida First Coast Chapter’s Excellence in Construction Awards on August 7, earning one Eagle Award and three Pyramid Awards.

These awards recognize the planning, craftsmanship, problem-solving, and teamwork required to deliver complex projects successfully. More importantly, they reflect the dedication our teams bring to every project from preconstruction through completion.

Award Winners

Eagle Award

  • Miami Freedom Park Stadium

Pyramid Awards

  • Jacksonville Jaguars Office & Fitness Center Buildout
  • Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Manatee River Gateway
  • Mayo Clinic Patient Tower Phase 3A

Members of each project team were on hand to accept the awards and celebrate these accomplishments together.

Congratulations to everyone who contributed to these successful projects.

Miami Freedom Park Stadium Earns Eagle Award

The highest honor of the evening, the Eagle Award, was presented to the Miami Freedom Park Stadium project.

As the centerpiece of a larger mixed-use development, the 632,841-square-foot, 26,000-seat soccer venue required extensive electrical infrastructure to support everything from sports lighting and power distribution to low-voltage pathways and premium club spaces. The project team leveraged BIM coordination and prefabrication strategies to improve efficiency and maintain an aggressive schedule.

Despite structural delays, challenging site logistics, and weather-related disruptions, the team successfully adapted and delivered a high-performance venue ready to support its inaugural FIFA event. Through close collaboration with the owner and project partners, the team identified innovative solutions that maintained quality while meeting budget and schedule goals.

Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Manatee River Gateway Enhances the Guest Experience

The Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens Manatee River Gateway project transformed both guest-facing and operational areas through comprehensive electrical systems supporting retail spaces, kitchens, kiosks, site lighting, and specialized infrastructure for the manatee habitat and filtration systems.

Completed with more than 40,000 safe work hours, the project featured a variety of advanced elements, including a 65-foot curved LED video wall, integrated audiovisual systems, custom lighting installations, and extensive underground electrical infrastructure.

Working within an active zoo environment presented unique challenges, requiring careful coordination with zoo leadership, utility providers, and project stakeholders. Through collaboration, innovation, and the use of BIM technology and prefabrication, the team delivered the project on schedule and under budget.

Jacksonville Jaguars Office & Fitness Center Buildout Delivers a Modern Workplace

The Jacksonville Jaguars Office and Fitness Center Buildout transformed approximately 77,000 square feet into a highly customized workspace designed to support collaboration, performance, and innovation.

The project included comprehensive electrical systems and advanced audiovisual technology, featuring conferencing solutions, sound masking systems, and a fully integrated fitness center AV environment. Custom Jaguar-branded design elements and specialty finishes required seamless coordination between the project team, architect, and general contractor.

One of the project’s biggest challenges involved developing custom pathways for major audiovisual infrastructure where none previously existed. Through close collaboration and creative problem-solving, the team successfully delivered a sophisticated workspace within a demanding seven-month schedule.

Mayo Clinic Patient Tower Expansion Supports Critical Healthcare Growth

The Mayo Clinic Patient Tower Phase 3A project expanded an active healthcare campus with a nine-story, 250,000-square-foot addition that includes 166 new patient rooms.

Constructing a major expansion atop an operating hospital required exceptional planning, coordination, and safety management. The project team logged more than 240,000 man-hours and achieved its first 365 days without a safety incident, a testament to the culture of safety maintained throughout the jobsite.

Early engagement with stakeholders, including the construction of full-scale mock-up patient rooms, helped ensure quality and alignment throughout the project. Through disciplined execution and strong collaboration among all project partners, the team delivered key milestones ahead of schedule and under budget while supporting Mayo Clinic’s commitment to exceptional patient care.

Celebrating the Teams Behind the Work

While these awards recognize exceptional projects, the real achievement belongs to the people behind them. From the field and prefabrication shop to project management, VDC, safety, and support teams, each recognition reflects the dedication and expertise of the individuals who made these projects possible.

We are grateful to ABC Florida First Coast Chapter for this recognition and congratulate every Miller Electric team member, partner, and client who contributed to these award-winning projects. Together, we’re building spaces that strengthen our communities, enhance experiences, and support critical services across Florida.
